Nippi Linker®* is a chemically cross linkable polyvinyl chloride(PVC) compound which can be cross linked simply by heating. The properties of a polymer with a linear molecule structure can be greatly improved by cross linking to form a network structure. Nippi Linker is the only one successful case in practical use of chemical method of cross linking PVC in the world.
It is used for AVX, heat and solder resistant wire, electric appliance wire material such as UL1430, abrasion resistant sheathing, etc. It has excellent characteristics, e.g. good formability, brilliant color and resistance to browning, which have never been achieved by other chemically cross linkable compounds. On the environmental concerns side, the compound does not contain any heavy metals.
Compared with the irradiation cross linking method, which has been successful for various practical applications, the chemical method does not require a large facility and proficiency in the process control. It also has no restriction of shape, while electron beam cannot penetrate thick materials in the irradiation process. Further, it can keep clean color while the clarity of color would be lost in case of irradiation.
